When your food producers are already bleeding money, they have 0 chance of getting the financing to rethink their whole production. It’s too late for that.
Especially since the whole agriculture was resting on the shoulders of immigrants and they are now gone. The system needs to find a new balance before any producer can start changing their practices.
The only one who will survive are the ones who have enough money on the side.
But worry not. The farms will be taken over by private equity, right before the administration allows slaves again.
