Not an ideal combination in my experience. (TikTok screencap)

As someone with ADHD, stimulants like caffeine actually do relieve my anxiety. In fact, coffee makes me sleepy.

It’s a shame we can’t enjoy things like cocaine the way neurotypicals do. The last time I did cocaine I just tripled my high score in Snake while everyone else was partying.

Sometimes the mix of not getting enough sleep and a bit of coffeine makes me extremely energetic, and not anxious for some reason, lol. It’s like I no longer have some kind of blockade in my brain.

But in the long run… well… it’s not good.

You cannot tell If there is any sugar or sweetener of any kind in that drink, however statistically likely it has it or not.

Secondly if that is a cold brew coffee which is what it looks like to me, you are absolutely incorrect. Cream isn’t milk, and it makes a coffee look exactly like that. Most non dairy creamers also look the same way. Almond milk in my experience is a bit thinner and is more like actual milk than cream or oat milk, but still that cup looks like it is mostly coffee and ice

Please don’t consume Starbucks. They have a reputation for buying from farms in Brazil and Guatemala that employe slave labor and child labor.

EDIT: Starbucks also abuses the Italian language. None of their drinks are what they claim to be. That mocha you had is too large to be a mocha.

How fucking tall is that drink? And yes, this is a setup to tell me it is not a tall but a grande or whatever bullshit that is.

A colleague of mine had a habit of dousing espressos upon having anxiety episodes. Naturally, she ended up having a cardiac episode (not an attack but something similar) a couple of years later and now she doesn’t like any form of coffee

    • Thats a Venti Iced cold foam cold brew which contains about 18 oz of liquid.

Orleans Coffee claims that a 12 oz Serving of cold brew has between 170 and 245 mg caffeine. Let’s take the average of that: about 207. Compare to our 18 oz of coffee above: 207*1.5=310.5 mg.

That’s more than two regular cups of coffee.

While y’all have been complaining about desert coffee not being real coffee, the rest of us have been earning untenable caffeine addictions at the hands of cold brew and iced lattes.

I could be wrong that its cold brew, it could be an iced latte in which case, it’d be about 225 mg (assuming no extra shot, it suspiciously dark for a standard iced latte though)

The ice cubes are hollow. The ice cubes have about 6-8 fl oz total displacement (its so weird to talk about displacement in freedom units) in that size. Volumetrically: you’re absolutely right, they fill the cup entirely. Go into a starbucks and watch them make drinks, they add the ice last, which shows you exactly how much liquid you’re getting (its the top black line, those are measurements)

Edit: I’m not saying you’re not getting ripped off, you are, but not nearly as badly as it looks.

I just watched them make my drink. They used a separate container to mix my iced drink before putting it into the cup. I specifically ask for light ice or most of the cup is full of ice(I do not know how that affects actual volume due to tapering + not filling to brim). I know this because I have a tendency to drink too fast and that’s how I noticed when I have a half a cup of ice left over, And why I ask for light ice now.

I do think it’s a rip off but not everyone drinks the same way and the cold cups are different volumes as well, possibly to offset the use of ice

            • Venti cold cups are 26 oz, the others are the same as their hot counterparts.

If your beverage was an iced tea, those are always made in a separate Container.

You can get it with the extra liquid, but you MUST be specific and mention you’d like “Lite ice, filled to the brim” or they’ll use the recipe card which will get you a less filled cup.

Back when I was a barista I trained my team to just make a sized up when folks ask for lite ice (because fuck corporate’s bottom line idgaf) and just use the ice scoop for the size down (ie, venti lire code gets trenta recipe with grande ice).
