Not an ideal combination in my experience. (TikTok screencap)
As someone with ADHD, stimulants like caffeine actually do relieve my anxiety. In fact, coffee makes me sleepy.
It’s a shame we can’t enjoy things like cocaine the way neurotypicals do. The last time I did cocaine I just tripled my high score in Snake while everyone else was partying.
Man, stories like this make me wanna try it. I bet I would be SO productive.
I’m not gonna because I worry I would like it too much, but a man can dream.
I always just want to clean lol
Sometimes the mix of not getting enough sleep and a bit of coffeine makes me extremely energetic, and not anxious for some reason, lol. It’s like I no longer have some kind of blockade in my brain.
But in the long run… well… it’s not good.
Narrator: It did not help.
that’s really just milk and sugar
You cannot tell If there is any sugar or sweetener of any kind in that drink, however statistically likely it has it or not.
Secondly if that is a cold brew coffee which is what it looks like to me, you are absolutely incorrect. Cream isn’t milk, and it makes a coffee look exactly like that. Most non dairy creamers also look the same way. Almond milk in my experience is a bit thinner and is more like actual milk than cream or oat milk, but still that cup looks like it is mostly coffee and ice
Please don’t consume Starbucks. They have a reputation for buying from farms in Brazil and Guatemala that employe slave labor and child labor.
EDIT: Starbucks also abuses the Italian language. None of their drinks are what they claim to be. That mocha you had is too large to be a mocha.
The Starbucks CEO commutes from Southern California to Washington on his private jet every single day.
And it tastes like burnt shit.
They also have a reputation for making themselves the most important figure in those economies by building hospitals and schools for the families of the farmhands.
Edit: this is not praise
Back in 2019 during the commodity crisis when the price was below a $1, they pretended to contribute lots of money to helping their farmers. The company publicly announced they were donating money to the farms they owned. That amount based on available financial data suggested that that money was equal to a single afternoon’s profits.
The point here is that Starbucks could have been contributing to the falling price of commodities, which they should have released more current financial data for. More transparency would have given a better idea if they were having a positive or negative impact. What this all boiled down to was simply saying what they paid their farms. If they did that, it would have been better.

Isn’t that the case with just about every coffee producer?
No it is not.
There are plenty of artisinal coffee roasters that source beans ethically.
And don’t burn them to a crisp.
Still taste like crap tho
Stop drinking trash coffee then.
Please don’t say artisanal. That is a bullshit word. There is such a thing called speciality which is a technical term for coffee that is graded at 80-100 points. If you are using words like artisanal or gourmet, you are not knowable. Those in my opinion are bullshit words that make poor quality coffee sound fancy and super gross.
I only drink speciality.
…ok…
Eh, everyone does it, why not throw the known slavers some cash?
I’m in this image and I don’t like it.
Calm down, Tweak. Here, have some coffee.
I just drink it to stay awake
How fucking tall is that drink? And yes, this is a setup to tell me it is not a tall but a grande or whatever bullshit that is.
18-20 oz liquid. Cup is a Venti, 26 oz.
A colleague of mine had a habit of dousing espressos upon having anxiety episodes. Naturally, she ended up having a cardiac episode (not an attack but something similar) a couple of years later and now she doesn’t like any form of coffee
I bet that this thing don’t have more than 5mg of caffeine
Thats a Venti Iced cold foam cold brew which contains about 18 oz of liquid.
Orleans Coffee claims that a 12 oz Serving of cold brew has between 170 and 245 mg caffeine. Let’s take the average of that: about 207. Compare to our 18 oz of coffee above: 207*1.5=310.5 mg.
That’s more than two regular cups of coffee.
While y’all have been complaining about desert coffee not being real coffee, the rest of us have been earning untenable caffeine addictions at the hands of cold brew and iced lattes.
I could be wrong that its cold brew, it could be an iced latte in which case, it’d be about 225 mg (assuming no extra shot, it suspiciously dark for a standard iced latte though)
To me it looks like about 1/3 of that is just ice and you are getting ripped off
The ice cubes are hollow. The ice cubes have about 6-8 fl oz total displacement (its so weird to talk about displacement in freedom units) in that size. Volumetrically: you’re absolutely right, they fill the cup entirely. Go into a starbucks and watch them make drinks, they add the ice last, which shows you exactly how much liquid you’re getting (its the top black line, those are measurements)
Edit: I’m not saying you’re not getting ripped off, you are, but not nearly as badly as it looks.
I just watched them make my drink. They used a separate container to mix my iced drink before putting it into the cup. I specifically ask for light ice or most of the cup is full of ice(I do not know how that affects actual volume due to tapering + not filling to brim). I know this because I have a tendency to drink too fast and that’s how I noticed when I have a half a cup of ice left over, And why I ask for light ice now.
I do think it’s a rip off but not everyone drinks the same way and the cold cups are different volumes as well, possibly to offset the use of ice
Venti cold cups are 26 oz, the others are the same as their hot counterparts.
If your beverage was an iced tea, those are always made in a separate Container.
You can get it with the extra liquid, but you MUST be specific and mention you’d like “Lite ice, filled to the brim” or they’ll use the recipe card which will get you a less filled cup.
Back when I was a barista I trained my team to just make a sized up when folks ask for lite ice (because fuck corporate’s bottom line idgaf) and just use the ice scoop for the size down (ie, venti lire code gets trenta recipe with grande ice).
That’s one and a half cups of espresso. Insane amounts of caffeine, borderline lethal.
TIL a double espresso is deadly
Usually caffeine poisoning symptoms start at about 500mg, but borderline lethal is in the ballpark of several grams in couple hours. Basically every known case of caffeine poisoning is from pure caffeine or caffeine pills etc.
Brain Implosion Energy
10,000 grams of pure caffeine
Because you can’t overthink if your heart stops.energy drink: 100g caffeie, 400g water. enough energy for the rest of your life :D
I was making a joke.
Two double espresso would put you at somewhere between 400mg and 800mg of caffeine. Half of Italy would just be living in a hospital full time.
Caffeine poisoning starting at 500mg is the same as alcohol poisoning starting when you feel nauseated.
Lethal dose’s around the 1gm mark, with 320mg being safest daily dose for an adult human. >500mg will likely put you in a hospital, though.
According to your link, toxic dose is >10g/day and not 1g
Toxic doses, over 10 grams per day for an adult, greatly exceed the typical dose of under 500 milligrams per day.
Also, >500mg/day will not send you to the hospital…sincerely me, drinking 3-4 double espresso (that’s ~150mg/cup) before lunch at work. Healthy? No doubt it isn’t…but also very far from lethal.
Ah sorry, 2am commenting moment
It’ll cure your anxiety once and for all
