That’s because the democrats are not much of an opposition and when they’ve been given votes, they don’t do much with them, which is one reason why they have trouble getting those votes in the first place. They insist on catering to republican-lites (i.e. moderate fascists) and insist that when in power they should “work with” (i.e. bend over for) republicans.
Vice President Kamala Harris was asked by the co-hosts of The View on Tuesday whether she would have done anything differently than President Biden, responding “not a thing comes to mind,” before coming back to the question and adding that she plans to appoint a Republican to her Cabinet if she is elected in November.
So she was fine with all the support for genocide, but thought we needed more republican influence in government. Even when democrats spell this out clearly, you insist that the problem is we’re just not voting hard enough.
you insist that the problem is we’re just not voting hard enough.
I think you should read my other comments here and in other places, but in short many like OP reject voting and are also wondering why they have no say in government after elections. Some engagement with the system is needed. I am saying we need our own party and to aim for local elections. I certainly hope you are aware that on election day there is more than one race happening or that there are other midterms. Blue no matter who should be a last resort.
Also can we not use Newsweek on Lemmy? It is a tabloid chasing vapid clicks.
The Biden presidency was lukewarm at best. He was status quo. He did not fight. He was uninspiring. He and his press secretary were part of the problem.
You’re going to have to internalize the fact that “leftists” aren’t the reason Kamala lost
The voters who voted for Biden and then stayed home for Kamala were boomers and older millennials, more specifically the white men/women and hispanic men from those age groups.
Only if you blame these groups for not turning out for Harris. If you lay the responsibility at the feet of the Harris organization and the DNC at large for being out of touch of the needs of their coalition, then that’s not racist.
The irony that OP discourages voting around Lemmy and now they are wondering why the opposition isn’t as strong as it could be.

Just take a look at the recent run with Harris: https://www.newsweek.com/kamala-harris-view-republican-cabinet-1965824

I discourage voting for her and her party precisely for the reason she states, because they do not fight back.
The irony of you advocating for someone who does not fight back but only complains is funny.

The only group which voted in the majority for Trump were white people. This is literally racist propaganda.

Its not, but that does not change the fact that we as leftists are ignoring this front on the class war and it is to our detriment.
Democrats are not leftists they are right wingers.
Weird that I’m the only one who needs to back up their claims
I stopped reading when you described yourself as a leftist.
I rest my case
