The only brand I trust to handle off-road out of box is Subaru because its the only cars I see actually driving in the snow

How were those parking lots made unavailable? In the image the Jeep is parked outside of the designated parking spaces,I don’t see it blocking anything. Sorry I don’t get it.

Jeeps are unbelievable pieces of shit, overpriced and unreliable. But at least I understand the appeal of the basic Jeep form factor with the 4WD and the removable top and doors and whatnot; I love driving with the wind in my face and it’s probably nice to be at least theoretically capable of a little offroading.

What I don’t understand is people buying Jeep-branded cars. Then you’re just getting an overpriced and unreliable piece of shit car.

I rode with someone who had one of their trucks and it was a very unpleasant ride. I don’t understand why anyone would choose to buy it.

Less annoying than construction workers leaving their pickup trucks in pedestrian crossings with a high visibility vest jammed in the window.

I ride my bike on the sidewalk and don’t mind taking the car road if there are pedestrians on it, but one week every day there were trucks blocking the sidewalk, to get out of the road. I do NOT like getting in the car road because a car is using the sidewalk. That feels so wrong.

I know that Norm MacDonald and Jim Downey (the writer who worked with him the most on Weekend Update for SNL) had a thing where they thought the perfect joke had to be one where the setup and the punchline were the same thing.

This kind of reminds me of that sort of joke.

For an example from Weekend Update, here’s one joke that he presented:

“Julia Roberts told reporters this week that her marriage to Lyle Lovett has been over for some time. The key moment she said came when she realized that she was Julia Roberts, and that she was married to Lyle Lovett.”

Ducking is a fairly sacred community thing among Jeep owners, most specifically with Wranglers and now Gladiators. Ducks are always gifted as a random act of kindness, so a Jeep with a lot of ducks suggests that person has been rather active in the community.

Where can I see more of this “Corvette man?” Also why isn’t he an 80-year-old man driving 45MPH down the freeway like every Corvette owner I’ve ever seen?

A friend of mine in his 60s (I think) has a Corvette. Automatic. And he drives it like grandma on her way to church.

I understand that cops are going to be happy to pull over a Corvette. But you can still go the speed limit. And you don’t have to cruise under the speed limit in the middle lane… Basically, he’s the kind of driver that irritates me.

In their defense, I was cursed with a lime green Mustang as a rental once. I have never in my life been so watched by cops. Literally every time I saw them for 2 weeks, they were staring me down the whole time. I wasn’t brave enough to go faster than 5 under. I’m going to keep my bland anonymous shitbox, thank you very much.

Yeah, I get it, but my friend wasn’t even driving a constant speed - sometimes he was over the speed limit; other times he was 5 or 10 under. In the middle lane of 3. Basically being one of those drivers that is inconsistent. I hate when people are inconsistent with their speed and we keep passing back and forth. Just pick a speed and stick to it.

There’s a surprisingly large number of (new) Corvettes in my region, so you wouldn’t have to look long. However, they are mostly owned by middle aged white men who like to speed (but not enough to warrant having a sports car).

Where I live it seems that all the Corvettes are owned by young men who live with their parents. Shitty jobs and their whole paycheck goes to the car’s bank note.

Rich kids get their cars bought for them by their parents and it’s not usually a Corvette. A $90K car with no down would have a monthly payment of $1500 or thereabouts, just barely affordable for a young person with a shitty job. Having your puny net worth tied up in a sad “super” car is definitely poor people shit.

Nobody should be driving crazy enough to need a sports car on public roads. That’s insanely stupid to do. If they can afford the sports car, they can afford some track days.

My sentiment remains the same. Those cars have plenty of performance to get in to trouble on public roads.

Track days are not expensive unless you completely turf your car, so even the advice remains completely valid. Don’t drive like a jackass on public roads. Period.

Either way, having a powerful engine shouldn’t excuse someone driving like a jackass. Hilarious people are downvoting being a responsible human being.

This may come as a shock to you, but one can drive a sports car not like a jackass. Statistically, the vast majority of drivers of sports cars drive them completely normally.

Nowhere did I ever say someone who owns such a vehicle is obligated to drive like a jackass.
