To date I still find it incredibly weird how the US normalised bloodlust and murderous intent to the point where a considerable chunk of the country considers it their patriotic duty to protect their rights to keep weapons primarily intended for killing while presenting obvious signs of mental instability - as depicted.

Ever learn about “the shot heard around the world”?

The country was literally born from a rebellion that reached a violent tipping point when the monarchy tried to confiscate/destroy munitions.

      as depicted

The “depiction” you refer to is a caricature. While I’m certain there are people like this out there, this is not what the majority of firearms owners are actually like.

Having seen gun forums, unedited public range footage, private range footage, seminars, which guns sell best etc etc, I simply think this is a lie you tell yourself to support what you already believe.

The average gun owner in the US is very much so like this image. Maybe not as many guns, but absolutely the same mentality.

So you need an armed working class for what exactly? To watch Trump dismantle your democracy? You probably don’t need guns if you are just watching anyway 🤣

Allowed? Governments can only regulate, they can’t allow people to do things because they simply don’t have the ability to bestow rights, which people intrinsically possess. Anyway, I’ve looked into it but the upkeep is shocking. There’s a reason that one dude just encased a bulldozer in concrete.

You must be fucked in the head to presume that you intrinsically possess any kind of rights.

Rights are a societal contract, an agreement between the people of what one might do and what one might not - and of course what the repercussions are for doing something that one is not allowed to.

For something to be intrinsic, it has to exist naturally - such as, your hair colour, skin colour, etc. would be intrinsic. Rights aren’t.

And yes, in fact, it IS the government’s role to determine the rights of people (legislative branch), ensure that people stay within those rights (executive), and provide a commonly acceptable interpretation of those rights (judicial).
