The Democratic National Committee will run ads Thursday on the home pages of newspapers in a quartet of Republican senators’ hometowns, calling on the incumbents up for reelection next year to support a Democratic bill to extend health care subsidies.
The digital ads target Sens. Dan Sullivan of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Jon Husted of Ohio and John Cornyn of Texas on the day the Senate is expected to vote on a Democratic proposal to extend enhanced subsidies for insurance purchased on the Affordable Care Act marketplace.
SHE’S LEARNED HER LESSON
The legislation failed by a vote of 51-48, with Sens. Susan Collins, R-Maine, Josh Hawley, R-Mo., and Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan, both Alaska Republicans, joining Democrats to support it.
Honestly at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if the DNC spends money on ads thanking her for this

Which you know, but some others may not.

Ugh, Democratic party managers are so fucking bad at their jobs, the Republicans are just going to count their votes so their people up for reelection can make a show of supporting this while the rest of them guarantee it still fails
I’m still pissed off at Democrats in the Senate that pulled that very thing to end the shutdown less than a week after big election wins last month. Republicans were starting to crack under pressure and those fuckers conspired to give their leverage up for nothing, but in a way to not expose Schumer and anyone running in 2026.
I’ll never be one to argue “both sides” but holy fucking shit was that a letdown. That was a McConnell type play. If they’re gonna be sneaky schemers, I wish they’d do it on behalf of the voters and not their donors. At this point, they’ve got to be aware that, if their negligence destroys the economy and the country enough, that they have much more to lose than we do. I’m much closer to broke than I am to being a millionaire (let alone billionaire), so if my cash becomes toilet paper, I’ll power through on spite alone from knowing that their mountain of toilet paper drags them down to our level. But unlike me, they’ll be one of a select few with targets on their backs for betraying we the people.
lol shame on me for thinking, even for a heartbeat, they meant an actual healthcare plan
