Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a suit on Monday against Samsung, Sony, LG, TCL, and Hisense, claiming in a press release that they "have been unlawfully collecting personal data through Automated Content Recognition (“ACR”) technology.”
Paxton goes on to label ACR as “an uninvited, invisible digital invader,” and in one of the five separately filed suits, he calls Samsung TVs “a mass surveillance system.”
The [important person] of Texas fucked his sister and the TV has a recording of this but they don’t know how to erase it. It probably pops up when they turn on the TV.
That’s my my wild guess.
“Yeah! Don’t let your TV spy on you!”

Is this going to affect everywhere?
Rare Texas W. It’s 2025 I’ll take whatever we can get at this point.
Wow. A slight trickle of goodness from an evil state.
Yeah, not so much. It’s all about Paxton trying to boost his image for the election. Fully expect it to be quietly dropped or settled afterwards.
And the trickle stopped.

For sure, but the onus shouldn’t be entirely on the consumer to individually fight invasion of privacy.
