Together, the administration, congressional Republicans and industry-backed lawsuits have undone a decade’s worth of CFPB rules on matters ranging from medical debt and student loans to credit card late fees, overdraft charges and mortgage lending.

The agency has also dropped or paused its probes and enforcement actions, and stopped supervising the consumer finance industries, leading to a string of resignations.

The CFPB and the White House did not respond to requests for comment.

Mission accomplished, we got rid of those pesky government regulations that (checks notes) protect Americans from fraud and financial shenanigans. A win for the america people grifters, fin-tech, and trad banks.

What a great day to let the market govern itself, after all, no company would make things worse for their customers right? /S

When people call the latest branding of Republicanism/conservatism “right wing populism” -> LOL.

This is what “right wing populism” gets you. Massive handouts to the already impossibly wealthy and more unchained corporate bullshit, while everyone else gets a gigantic middle finger.

Yeah, it is a bit like how angler fish use “small fish populism” to get their dinner by dangling a lie in front of small fish until it is too late for them.

The “rightwing populism” nodule of this angler fish is visible in the top left corner of image

What allies? The ones we shit on or otherwise try to manipulate and strong man?

Even if they wanted to stop us we have 800+ military bases around the world ready to become functional points of invasion anywhere. We have a larger military than the next several countries combined not to mention a tendency toward shooting ourselves in the foot to spite our enemies. Why would anyone step in and if they did what would they even do?

We are on our own here. We gotta excise this from the inside out. Where are our allies? They’re your neighbors.
