I have hated that mouse for years. No part of it makes any sense: The charging port is fucked, the touch scroll sucks ass, the buttons don’t really work, the sensitivity is completely fucked on numerous apps and it’s generally useless as a device. The worst bit is that there isn’t a fucking power led and have just tossed it in my bag leaving work. I get home open my laptop and nothing works because the button is reading as pressed. He worser part is that it takes about 5mins after boot before the trackpad clicks stop because the mouse button is pressed.

Apple’s fashion over function shit needs to stop. I just use their shit for work, because someone else is paying for it. A company that can’t see these issues in a device as critical as a mouse is a company that needs to go bankrupt.

The Logitech 3F-A0. It was still a ball mouse, but had it for years. For a time, it was the best, in my opinion.

The ADB mouse II was fantastic for the day. Unfortunately it was still square in the middle of one button madness, but otherwise felt great to use. The puck and everything after it have been total garbage.

    I thought this was debunked?

    https://www.macrumors.com/2024/11/17/tim-cook-didnt-say-that/

No, Apple CEO Tim Cook Didn’t Say He Prefers Logitech’s MX Master 3 Over the Magic Mouse

In other words, it was [The Verge’s Wes] Davis who said he himself used a Logitech mouse, not Cook.

To be clear, I personally hate the carpel tunnel crippler. I cannot use it and only use vertical mice.

I guess the graphic designer decided to give us all a preview of Tim Apple in Hell.

Makes sense, mx master is the best productivity mouse there is for any serious long session usage.

I would love an MX master that’s half the weight. Or really just any ergo productivity centric mouse with ultralight mouse design philosophy. I’m too accustomed to a 70g mouse now.

Edit: after making this comment I decided to actually look into it, it does exist as the Keychron M6. I think I found my next mouse!

        LOL!

Maybe if the make the mouse a different shade of off-white, and create a new proprietary cable connector standard for it, might help.

I will chime in as someone who actually likes the mouse. But hear me out… A) it was better when it took AA batteries and B) it has a specific use case and is a pretty shit mouse for everything else. So setting aside that the new mouse has to charge upside down, It’s really the best mouse for design work. The track pad allows for scrolling in all directions which is a game changer for art boards in almost all design/photo editing software. They also have lots of “gestures” built in that you can customize to your liking same as the regular track pad. There are other track pad mice out there, but they don’t work quite as well, at least none that I’ve tried, and of course because of Apple’s bullshit, the gestures won’t work. Do I wish they would fix the stupid fucking charge port? Yes! But this is still my best option for design work. My gaming mouse however is a wired monstrosity and I love that the mice in my life represent the different personalities I have for work and home.

I work on process automation software that includes a very large multidirectional scrollable canvas with the map of nodes. My experience mirrors yours, though I switched to a magic trackpad a few years back for the bigger gesture area.

I still wouldn’t recommend the magic mouse to anyone though.
