Darren Bullock, 40, is a Trump voter who switched from the Democrats in 2016.

He is likely to lose Medicaid coverage because of the new requirements, although he is not hopeful of finding adequate employment.

“If they want people to work 80 hours a month, they’d need to bring in a lot more jobs,” he says.

See, this guy right here is what politics should be.

The democrats should say “This problem should be tackled THIS way!”

And the republicans should say “I disagree. I think the problem should be tackled THAT way!”

And then you, the american voter, should then go to your local polling booth, and cast your vote for whom you think is right.

But that’s not what this is.

Politics, for at least my entire lifetime, has been a bunch of weak men and women grasping at straws, trying to consolidate power for their individual selves. The DNC is quite frankly a corrupt shitshow. They don’t know who they want in, but they have a long list of whom they want to keep OUT.

And the RNC isn’t much better. They have solidarity. That’s it. They will all agree with the plan, regardless of if that plan is stupid or not. They will just line up to kiss the ring, and provide a united front. In their own minds they think that makes them strong.

But at no time are either of these groups worried about the american people. They’re worried about their own careers. They’re worried about their status in the political world. They’re worried about their ego.

That’s what’s missing in this country. A leader who cares about the nation. The whole nation. Not just their career. Not just their side. But EVERYONE.

Politics should be two opposing ideas that differ from each other on the best way to serve the country. Instead, somewhere along the way it became two sides that are enemies.

I lean left, and more democrat on many things. But republicans SHOULDN’T be the enemy. And if you’re a republican, democrats SHOULDN’T be the enemy. These two sides may be opposite sides, but they’re meant to be two sides of the same coin. That coin being america.

So the poster above me, even though they didn’t call any of that out specifically, they do embody the spirit of what I’m saying. Someone leaning to the left, seeing a right wing person feeling the ill effects of their own choices.

And their response is “if you can own up to your own mistakes, I’ll help you dig out of them.”

THAT is whats missing in this country.
