    A big effect of comming ACA premium changes, is instead of paying $10k more per year, people dropping their insurance, using less medical care, until it is something major that results in their bankruptcy. People’s mass medical related bankruptcies cause hospital bankruptcies/closures, as does less “routine” medical use.

    So x + (x+74) = 100 which means 2x = 26 -> x = 13

    They voted non-Trump 13% and Trump 87%?

    “They blame Trump”

    No, they didn’t. The medical facility didn’t blame trump, the article didn’t blame trump, and there’s no proof that any of the citizens blame trump.

    This is actually what the article says:

    Curtis Medical Center to close after 30 years, citing inflation and uncertain federal funding

    And then, later in the article it mentions how there’s supposedly $50 billion coming from the feds to assist rural providers, and how disappointing it is that they’ve made this decision before the federal aid has been finalized.

    This is being portrayed as a business decision to close this town’s only healthcare facility. Anyone reading the article would have to believe that trump has anything to do with inflation or cutting funding, and a community that has over 85% of their people voting for trump doesn’t believe that.

    Honestly, while I am also enjoying the schadenfreude, this seems like a prime opportunity for leftists to do some de-radicalizing. Bernie should head out there and talk to folks.

      “See I was right all the time!” Isn’t the deprogramming many think it is. But smarter people probably know how to do it. Then again I bet it includes things like free education so good luck with that.

      I have never been envious of the USA but nowadays it’s even less.

    74-point margin

    Why not just say 86% Trump? Much easier.
    (Harris 13 %, others 1 %, as per Frontier County results of 1413 votes)

      The fact that 200 people out in the boonies voted for Harris is so shocking I’d actually believe they couldn’t read and voted wrong before I believed they actually voted for a woman of color.

        I hate this. It’s so needlessly divisive. There are allies everywhere. Stop writing them off because you’re bigoted against them. There’s all kinds of people in every area. Sure, rural people tend to be more conservative, because they live in isolated areas without exposure to new ideas. They aren’t all this way though. Be welcoming of anyone you can find who agrees with you. These people are far more valuable than almost anywhere else.

          It’s the inverse of the psychotic belief that cities are terrifying places where people are getting stabbed or shot in the streets on a constant basis

        Keep in mind that voting is secret (as of 2025). For example, a woman can wear a MAGA hat and put the cross next to Harris unless her husband is so controlling to the point of it being illegal.

        I’m assuming, based off of absolutely nothing, that it’s probably mostly young people. Especially young women.
