Father of 4 chiming in: wrapping paper into a bag as you go, helps keep it as tidy as possible. Also, bins or baskets to put the unwrapped gifts into. That last one only works temporarily and is more a psychological band-aid that hurts when it’s removed when it inevitably stops working as desired, until bed time.
Anybody else have a mother who saves all the wrapping paper? And gets mad at you if you unwrap your present in such a way as to make the wrapping paper un-savable?
My mom wasn’t quite that bad, but we do have heirloom cardboard boxes and tissue paper for wrapping clothing. You always knew if you saw that shape under the tree that someone was getting clothes. My sister inherited the boxes and they still make the occasional appearance at family get togethers. Meanwhile I inherited the need to flatten, fold, and store tissue paper that is still whole.
We save gift bags. Some have been passed around over a decade at this point.
Lifehack: Gift bags save lots of time and are reusable (especially if you mind the design)
This year even without any major fighting!
:-)Why would you jinx it? The holidays aren’t over yet.
Too late.
Just received the message half an hour ago that my mother slipt while leaving the restaurant and probably broke her hand. Damn.
Congratulations! We haven’t even started yet since we’re waiting for family to get here in four hours.
ln Germany “Bescherung” (the giving of the presents) traditionally already happens on Christmas Eve in the evening.
So we are already almost 24 hrs past that potential cause of major drama. :-)Good luck to you, though!
France: First “cadeau” opened at 23:59 the 24th.
Today 😴😴😴😌☺️
Happy Christmas to ya all!
Amazon is three weeks late for delivering our presents 🫠
West coast US…it’s only just beginning.
Yeah, I just woke up, but we do Bescherung
My nieces birthday was last wednesday, her party was saturday, today is christmas, on the 26th is my other neaphew’s birthday. I’m broke, tired and fat
One of these is self inflicted.
The three are right?.The things we do for love are all self inflicted. I’m an atheist but I won’t pass the oportunity to be with a family I love, bake my mom’s favorite cake, share a meal, give gifts to the kids… The thing is I love my family regardless of religion
I apologize. I had the intention of motivating, not judging.
Keep on rocking. And happy holidays!
You didn’t offend :) Happy holidays
As my son gets older the presents get less numerous and more expensive. So it’s getting better.
Currently living in the toy explosion.
That’s why I’m here lol
Hahahaha, my toddler is down for her nap. We still have more. This is only a momentary reprieve
