He murdered a woman in cold blood. Nothing else about his life matters. He murdered someone in front of their spouse. He murdered a child’s mother. We all watched it happen. Give him the chair with Noem and Trump alongside him.
I agree with you but why do we always have to write like we’re in a padded cell? You know people get off on this, right? Your outrage fuels their entire movement.
Because we are PISSED THE FUCK OFF. We are angry and sick and tired of the evil run amok. We do not need to question or criticize how people are expressing their outrage and horror.
Exactly. Now is not the time to criticise people who are in your side imperfectly, now is the time to go on strike in a big way, and protest, and raise a little hell while we’re at it!
If any hell actually gets raised I take back everything I said. Do it. For the love of God don’t say it, do it. I’ll show up too in all my terminally depressed glory
I know. I just hate seeing psychopaths being rewarded with the reactions they seek to create. I would rather see something happen that they don’t like, but I guess I don’t get to say that if I’m not doing anything to manifest it
Yeah, I dislike when people moderate their beliefs and opinions around the most recent event that made them feel an emotion. If the person above advocates the death penalty for this guy, it implies they advocate for the death penalty in general, and that’s mega fucked. But almost as fucked is the notion that their opinion changed entirely based on their emotion in this moment. It means they have little or no foundation for their own ethics and ideology. It means they’re potentially reactionary, untrustworthy, or ideologically immature. It means that they cannot argue for or consistently demand a coherent vision for a better world. It’s a huge liability.
That’s some pretty heavy character assessment that I don’t really want to pronounce on them. People’s entirety really can’t be reduced to one kind-of-cringe comment they made. If that was the case I would be guilty of far worse.
Oh certainly, I don’t mean to prescribe all of that to this one person. I’m saying that when someone reacts this way, this is the array of possibilities they bring to the table, and absent any productive contribution outside of an unprocessed and possibly harmful form of catharsis.
He is a murderer.

The chair is far too peaceful an option

Not a personal attack, just an observation
Why do we need to censor ourselves when they don’t? The time for niceness is over.

We’ve seen where civility got us. It got us here. Maybe we should try the other thing.
Wasn’t at all talking about civility
