Cats are good at ignoring humans until they need food or water. Go ahead & type away - the most reaction you’re likely to get is a single annoyed crack of the eye, then right back to sleep.
I think you’re fine to type, as long as you give the cat a bit of fuss and attention at the end of each sentence.
Naturally, every sentence ends with a period (of cat loving).

Cats are ridiculous. They are so cute that it’s enough to simply see pictures of them and your heart goes mruuurr. Pictures! 2D! Mruur! That’s how cute they are.

I treat my heart like I treat my car: unless there’s fluid actively leaking out, those noises are just for attention.

Oh, yeah - when comparing the amount of time cats spend doing each, it’s definitely naps > work.
Recently bought an Ergo Purrch to keep my cat away from the keyboard. Very effective, and the cat loves it.
Yea no way my cat would ever use that. I put a single piece of paper on my desk instead, the fucker loves sleeping on squares.
The perch is square too. I sewed him a pillow and a small blanket for it. He was hesitant to go there at first, but now he loves it so much he’ll nap there all day when I wfh, sometimes even on non-work days.
I mean all cats are different, but I don’t recall any of my pets having an issue with me clacking at the keyboard, even the super loud IBMs.
Not the troubles I got, but the troubles I wish I had.
