Summary

Maricopa County, Arizona, has implemented enhanced security for the 2024 election, transforming its ballot counting center into a high-security zone with drones, snipers, razor wire, armed guards, and 24/7 livestreams in response to 2020 election-related threats and conspiracy theories.

Despite these efforts, some Republicans remain skeptical about the integrity of the election process. “It’s very hard to trust anyone today.”

With tight races expected, the county’s role is important, and results may take up to 13 days.

Uhh, the efforts aren’t for “election integrity,” they’re to protect staff from the fascists.

“I still think it was rigged,” said Maleesa Meyers, 55, who like some Republican voters said her distrust in the process is too deep-rooted to believe the election could be fair. “It’s very hard to trust anyone today.”

Quoth the people that have done absolutely everything they can to break the trust in the election process.

But you can trust the person who…

      • Bankrupt his casino

      • All but admitted his university was a scam

      • His family isn’t legally allowed to run a charity in at least one state because it was found to be a fraud and scam

      • Has 6 kids across 3 mothers he all cheated on…

      • … including his latest wife with a porn star…

      • …he paid hush money to and ultimately was convicted of 34 felony counts related to it

      • Awaiting a littany of convictions related to election fraud and attempts at election malfeasance including being on record asking states to commit actual fraud in his favor

      • Has had numerous lawyers and associates disbarred and or arrested in relation to said election

It’s weird how they cannot get their heads around the idea that the criminal cult leader they adore is hated by most normal Americans.

I’m glad they’re taking it seriously. I was prepared to read about some MAGA militia shooting up a voter line.

Here’s the thing. All of that’s for show.

Part of the problem is that the attacker generally…well…attacks first. By the time the snipers and drones even realize something’s going on, people are already dead and scrambling and the damage has been done.

If a lone-wolf attacker, especially one smart enough to keep his big mouth shut and not look for “how to make big bomb” on his phone, wants to attack, there is absolutely no way to stop them. None. Checkpoints are really just choke points where a whole bunch of people are standing there in a nice, little easy-to-attack group waiting to go to the next checkpoint. Their mission was successful and the damage they inflicted was done before you even realized what was going on . You may be able to pick him off before he does more damage (assuming he didn’t just kill himself in the blast), but the victims are still dead and the message has still been sent.

The ironic part about all of those soldiers and the razor wire and the guns and snipers and stuff is probably having the exact chilling effect that they were trying to avoid in the first place. I don’t care who’s there to protect me from whom. It becomes a question of “You’re going to protect me from them? Well who’s going to protect me from you?” Two people with big guns fighting over supposedly protecting little ol’ me who wants none of it is a classic case of two wolves and a sheep debating what to have for dinner.

This is why I love the idea of early voting and mail-in voting. Voters can avoid all this kind of drama and threats of violence.

Everyone is down voting you. But you’re not wrong. I was at the Chiefs Superbowl Parade. Snipers, drones and over 800 law enforcement. Did not stop shit. And that was a random altercation not something planned.

I disregard downvotes entirely. any kind of reputation system like upvoting/downvoting quickly devolves into “I agree”/“I disagree” immediately, with the “I don’t want to hear it even if it is true” people being a part of the latter.
