“Weird” to be interpreted at the reader’s discretion.
Looking for some cool new tunes.
I’ll get the ball rolling with one of mine: Scaretale by Nightwish. That song is all over the place… it’s like haunted fantasy carnival jingle metal. Love it.
https://on.soundcloud.com/9TEMwBMaYtFuDffbMh a weird affectionate song about a honda civic
Most Tom Cardy stuff but id recommend close up magician for a decent but weird song
I loved loot that body 🤣
You’re a short motherfucker and nobody likes you! Short!
“H.y.c.b.h” is one of my favorite songs
“Why am I anxious?” Is a personal attack
I HAVE NOT SEEN YOUR RING
BUT HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR RING
Especially Transcendental Cha Cha Cha
The one most people would probably find the weirdest is Pepper Coyote - no cock like horse cock
Cabinet Man by Lemon Demon
Thank you for reminding me about Lemon Demon.
That’s probably the least weird Neil Cicierega track on my playlists.
Here are several different types of weird. They’re not all on the same playlist.
Autechre - Second Bad Vilbel
Jan Böhmermann - Faschismus is Back
Adriano Celentano - Prisencolinensinainciusol
Too Many Zooz - Noda
Moon Hooch - Tubes, Number 9, Bari 3
Hiromi Uehara - Canon in D
2CELLOS - Thunderstruck
Captain Tractor - The Last Saskatchewan Pirate
The Arrogant Worms - Carrot Juice is Murder
Autechre and Hiromi are awesome
Celentano isn’t being weird, though, he’s just proving a point
He may be proving a point about phonemes and the general sounds of languages, and many others have made similar points as well. That doesn’t make it less weird to listen and try to understand the song as an actual speaker of the mimicked language. Especially if it just shows up on your playlist and you tell your friends it’s just some obscure Elvis song.

OK, now that’s just weird!
Moon Hooch - Tubes, Number 9, Bari 3
Where’s Number 6?
Country Death Song by the Violent Femmes. It’s banjos and a proper upbeat hoe-down vibe alongside lyrics talking about crushing poverty and killing one of your children so you can afford to feed the others and ends with the narrator hanging themselves. It’s bleak as fuck and very not my normal jam, but somehow it grew on me and I love it.
Bonus: Godzilla by Blue Oyster Cult. Just a song about Godzilla smashing up Tokyo set to some pretty fun music.
I don’t know how I missed Country Death Song, thank you for sharing! Playing it now. Might have to go through their discog today
My wife tells me I have “David Lynch taste in music,” and while that sounds like a compliment to me, she does not mean it to be one.
Kate Bush’s Suspended in Gaffa
Dresden Dolls’ Coin-Operated Boy
Peaches is awesome, she is a true musical artist.

Oh! Me too! I also love me some string quartet covers of metal songs.
Or the other way around, Leo Moracchioli is also amazing!
Thanks! I’ll check it out!

Random smattering of Eurovision picks, Who The Hell is Edgar by Teya and Salena (Austria) is a hilarious banger and commentary on Spotify profits to artists. Also, No Rules by Windows95man was pure brilliance.
Power metal classics and a few covers of 80s hits.
TV theme songs, but the full full 3-4 minute song.
Weird Al’s Hamilton Polka is top tier.
Plus some Disco era A and B sides, West African old school “palm wine music,” songs from a few musicals including the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode.
You know, just, like, normal stuff.
