I think he secretly likes watching these late night comedy hosts. This is the third or fourth time this week he’s posted about them (Kimmel, Meyers).
They speak to his ego, even if he doesn’t like what they’re saying about him.
Thing is, he grew up in an era when being talked about on the shows actually meant that you were somebody - and because of prevailing gentility of the time, it generally meant you were loved or at least appreciated.
