Sam Altman is not having a good couple of weeks; ever since he said OpenAI’s ram needs are more important than consumer electronics, the internet has been unforgiving. But one man has taken …

We could also save a lot of energy if we stopped using our brains, and instead have AI think for us.
Did anyone ever think of that?

In fact, the AI data centers can better use that energy. If only there were some way we could capture the energy our body inefficiently generates and use it to help the data centers, almost like a battery.

We could even feed back some of the energy we give to the data centers to put our minds at ease, perhaps by simulating a matrix of stimulus approximating, you know, the height of human civilization…

Granted, but only if the exit mechanism requires you to take estradiol.

Just one, though. It’s a great premise but I bet they’d try to make it a trilogy or something and just fuck it up.

But if those creators enlisted a bunch of other folks to make anime adaptions/extended stories, I bet that would be okay.

Better yet, rent our unused brain space and let corporations use that wasted brain energy for their server farms … great income for the average person who seldom uses their brains. Then we could use that income to buy credits to have AI think for us … circle of life.

What a ridiculous idea. The unused brain space is for ads! It’s like cryptomining but for Google and Facebook.

There is no “unused” RAM in a Linux machine. RAM that is not allocated makes a wonderful disk cache, basically since the kernel knew block devices.
