There’s no such thing as an “unfertilized embryo”. At least not in chicken.
Yeah I figured it was just eating the mensus at that point
If it’s embryo stage then don’t eat it and if it’s from your own farm you might want to check your coop.
Why not eat fertilized eggs?
It’s as crunchy as cereal, and it doesn’t get soggy. Win win!
I prefer my chicken fully grown before I’m cooking eating it.
Just preference.
Elaborate?
An egg is not an embryo. It’s an egg cell that can receive sperm to become fertilized. Then it starts to grow and is called an embryo. In species where the embryo develops inside its mother, it is called a fetus in later stages.

The reason why I added the ‘not in chicken’ disclaimer is because bees, for instance, do develop without fertilization. But I don’t know enough about that to elaborate further.
Embryo indicates fertilization. Other wise it’s just an egg maybe?
An embryo (/ˈɛmbrioʊ/ EM-bree-oh) is the initial stage of development for a multicellular organism. In organisms that reproduce sexually, embryonic development is the part of the life cycle that begins just after fertilization of the female egg cell by the male sperm cell.
American use of “cereal” still confuses me. These are cereals:

What they mean is chunks of sugar with some cereal flakes sprinkled here and there.
It’s almost like colloquial definitions follow usage, and the word “cereal” also means “breakfast cereal” which isn’t the same as the botanical definition of “cereal.” Or something. I don’t know, I’m not a dictionary.
Breakfast cereal is traditionally made from cereal grains.
They said colloquial, not traditional.
I’m not disagreeing with anything that is being said, just adding additional context to why we call them cereals.
They’re typically made from cereal grains, even if they get mashed and formed into puffed sugar paste.
I’ll colloquially use your name to mean dictionary so you can be.
Languages change, it’s just what they do. It’s kinda what makes them cool imo. Languages are alive
No one, except maybe an academic, that speaks American English would call corn or corn kernels cereal.
Maybe you’ll hear someone say cereal grains, but that will only be in a more academic or technical conversation.
The actual name of the product is “breakfast candy” but it did poorly in preliminary studies.
This actually aligns with what RFK jr is pushing. They always used to say cereal was more healthy though. (Like not sugar shit but healthy cereals with bran and wheat and oats and nuts and whatnot.) Though I’ve always eaten a lot of protein and I like eggs. I hate that I seem to agree with RFK on something. Probably because it actually isn’t as healthy. Which is why I like it.
It’s all in moderation. Eating 8 or so eggs scrambled every morning probably isn’t healthy for you either. But 2-3 eggs, some toast with decent butter, and some fruit is more sensible. Maybe swap it with yogurt and granola one morning.
Personally if I’m even hungry in the morning I go light and have plain toast, or I get a loaf of rosemary sourdough from the store and have that untoasted. If I’m hungry I do the yogurt combo.
My main pet peeve is cooking and eating for hours…I don’t feel like cooking breakfast for 1-2 hours(pancakes from scratch, eggs, bacon, etc.) and then eat for another hour and now it’s already lunch time and I still haven’t cleaned up from breakfast.
If I do a “lumberjack” type of breakfast then I go out to eat because I ain’t dealing with the kitchen for that lol.
Is it just me or does cereal not taste the same as when I was a kid?
It’s partly your pallet will have matured, and partly they don’t stuff an additional two thousand calories of sugar into each box anymore
Changed to cheaper ingredients in some cases, different sweeteners, and whole grain flour in other cases. The recipes just aren’t as tasty.
Now imagining a low wooden frame with a moustache, complaining that Frosties aren’t as good as they used to be.
(they’re not)
