I don’t think that’s such a bad idea. The richest states are blue, the poorest states are red. The entire country is a failed state already, might be good to start with a clean slate. And doing that without the need of a bloody revolution sounds good to me.

Anyone under the delusion that splitting a country can be peaceful should research any split since the idea of nationalism took hold. India and Pakistan are still the odds on favorite to kill us all with a nuclear winter.

I’m not aware of any major strife between Czechia and Slovakia. I may have missed it. It would obviously be harder in the US, where the divide is more urban vs. rural than regional, but I wouldn’t say it’s never been done.

Split into the conservative leecher states and the progressive earner states? How will they finance their new conservative utopia? Hate only feeds you that long…

Nah. I personally am enjoying watching the Republican farmers suffer. It is cathartic to see them cry. It is a sliver of joy in my heart to watch them beg.

As neat as it sounds, the logistics would be a nightmare. Remember, Republicans don’t follow the rules, so encouraging Democrats to leave the south is easier than having Republicans leave the west coast for example. They want things to affect us, not them.

And stop sending our tax revenue to unappreciative red states who just take take take, and then whine about it while offering nothing of value.

If the US balkanized along party lines, it wouldn’t even be months before they revert to a scavenger society carrying out raids on border towns, and begging bleeding hearts in blue cities for charity.

She’s right. It’s not safe. Good thing her side gets all the deep red, gun-loving terrorists who’ve committed all of the recent atrocities. I’m sure her new country will be really safe with all those people in it.

We get the healthcare, they got the food. We got the jobs, they got the … food. We got the infrastructure, they got… hey guys you need to diversify here, we don’t do trading imbalances and you’re going to need MRIs

Can’t trade food for proper education or healthcare if everyone with a brain refuses to set foot in your god forsaken territory

Their large scale public infrastructure would break down within months unless they figure out that they need taxes to raise revenue to accomplish anything.

Jobs will inevitably pay more in more left leaning areas so there will be no work besides picking vegetables for $7/hr

Me and the Union guys can renovate that office building into apartments, with a hydroponics farm in the basement, space for a doctor’s office, maybe a makerspace and a few resident-centric server racks.

They’ve got… Dustbowls incoming and ammo stockpikes that may or may not wither during one hunting season or another.

It starts with her then gradually others “decide” (as if they don’t already have this all planned the fuck out) to join her. Eventually other states kind of trickle away and Congress and just kind of agrees to dissolve the union.

Red states leave to form “super states”

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dissolution_of_the_Soviet_Union

Then this is just a guess but the combined National Guard of the new super states probably eventually just invade blue states regardless of if they try to hold out as part of the union.

Bc it seems like they’ve been training for this for a while. Blue cities in Red states being used to test authoritarian take over

It’s not at all crazy- it’s been happening for two generations in slow motion with warning signs along the way. Literally everyone watching has been telling you you have been on this exact path for about 30 years.

You responded with “shut up, you’re America’s hat,” renamed french fries, and gradually got shittier from there.
