Idk his ballotopedia page reads like a typical spurned republican but bravo
Hey, we can re-use those “I’m voting for the convicted felon” t-shirts!
Now this is a political ad campaign.
Bravo.
The current sitting President is a multiple convicted felon, for, you know, actual heinous crimes.
That line has been crossed.
When tyranny becomes law, crime becomes a duty, a public service.
I can’t say I know or agree with the entirety of this guy’s politics and policies, but goddamn if this is not very clever free marketing for himself.
I was just about to post this!
I’ll vote for the candidate who shoots down the most Flock devices (cameras, drones,
executiveset cetera).Every flock camera is 1 point, every firebombed data center or Tesla manufacturer is 5. Winner gets my vote!
I think a firebombed data centre is worth at least 20 points
It’s logarithmic, 20 points for crashing a SpaceX rocket into a data center.
This is a terrible, myopic way to decide who becomes your representative, and I’m honestly sad Lemmy is even upvoting this.
You need a points system, otherwise everyone’s going to min–max on the low-hanging fruit. “The most” is too basic a metric, but of course as always, Lemmy doesn’t understand the practical realities of politics.
Total height of cameras removed
so like the ones atop skyscrapers are worth more? i like it.
I figure it scales with effort.
i reckon so. seems like a plan to me.
Yeah, the ones on private property like mall parking lots are worth the most by far.
The executives? I dunno, I feel like they’d be worth more if done on a public sidewalk. For tradition’s sake.
Or like, dropped from a plane with no parachute.
The bottom of the sea was a good one too.
Don’t want people to completely ignore the easy ones though. Maybe eligibility for the high-value target bonus is unlocked by taking down a certain number of the common (low-hanging fruit) devices. Track everyone’s stats, work out the daily average, make that the cut-off so anyone below that number gets a reduced award instead of handing it to cherry-pickers. Some kind of MMORPG-inspired mechanic like that.
I only know one thing about this man and I like it.
Elect him now
Those bullets have to land somewhere. Use a hacksaw instead.
Eh, bird shot would likely be enough to fuck a camera up and is highly unlikely to damage anything on the way down.
Not if you didn’t miss.
That conditional is doing a lot of heavy lifting.
Skill issue
Cute, but skill issues with guns put people in the hospital.
I think it is what one might refer to as… a joke.
That’s why I called it cute. If I thought someone was actually encouraging firearms-based vandalism and dismissing the public hazard that would create, I would have called it reprehensible.
Ricochet and penetration can happen even if you’re on target. The thin shielding of these cameras isn’t going to do much to stop a bullet. There’s certainly more responsible ways of going about this.
There’s certainly more responsible ways of going about this.
Maybe, but we’re talking about Tennessee
A shotgun with medium-weight birdshot would work well and wouldn’t pose much risk of bullets falling on people. (Birdshot is too light to hold much velocity for long, and even if pellets hit people when coming back down, they’ll be small enough and moving slow enough to be harmless.)
Or a .22. With a suppressor.
Eh, .22 suppressed is good for not getting caught yourself, but could still be dangerous to bystanders if you miss or go through the target.
I disagree. If I’m using a can and not wanting to get caught, I’m using subsonic, which, absolutely will not have the energy to do anything.
Even super sonic, you’re talking about a couple hundred yards, max. With the precision of shooting one projectile. Your shotgun is going to be just as dangerous, and shooting a spread. So, good luck not missing your target.
In case you’re curious, I used to run a gun store, and I was an infantryman, I’m not going to say I definitively have more experience than you, but, it’s likely. I know SWAT guys that carry .22 specially for shooting lights.(well cameras these days but they won’t say that)
Your shotgun is going to be just as dangerous
Eh… I get where you’re coming from, but most birdshot is still significantly lighter than a single .22 slug – especially a heavy subsonic .22
You might be right that subsonic .22 won’t be dangerous by the time it comes back down, but you’re absolutely wrong to say that it’s less dangerous than birdshot.
And I’m still not totally convinced of the harmlessness of .22 at range. Sources I’ve found claim that it can still ‘cause harm’ at up to ~2000m. (Of course it’s by no means a practical round for shooting that far, but that’s because of accuracy issues, not because the bullet isn’t still carrying energy at that range.)
And I really wouldn’t put much stock in the beliefs and practices of “SWAT guys”. Cops are often misinformed about the guns they use, and they tend to only give lip service to public safety.
Shotgun with birdshot would be safe.
That’s not how we do it in TN
If Trump can be elected after his crimes, so can this man.
Yeah, but Donvict didn’t conduct his crimes against property like this guy.
To hear the cons tell it, BLM riots set entire cities on fire, and the property of businesses were harmed. This, plus mandated shutdowns were the “real” crimes we should have all been more concerned about, as opposed to murder-by-cop or a bungled Covid response that kill a huge surplus of Americans that didn’t have to die.
I’m just sayin’ - the cons tend to place far more value on property. If Donvict raped some children and some women that’s gonna be met with a collective yawn by the conservatives because no property or businesses were harmed…
I wonder why he admitted to it 🤔 coerced?
You’re supposed to admit to your actions openly for civil disobedience. It gives you standing to challenge and opportunity to drag things to light. Even now, everyone being tried for this creates headlines that unattributed destruction does not
At higher levels, it can also clog the justice system and make it expensive to continue targeted policies
Without all that, it’s just property destruction. Flock could probably have examples made of people caught (seeing as somehow they seem able to sidestep the law), but that frames the issue in a better way for flock
Taking the justice system head on is just a much more effective method of forcing change… Granted at a personal cost, although getting caught by the big brother machines themselves seems likely
Or it could be for political advantage…I mean, the cameras are wildly unpopular and badasses who cut (or shoot) through red tape are very much currently in style
Without all that, it’s just property destruction.
Counterpoint: wage war against the State and Capital.
Counterpoint - that’s ineffective messaging. It doesn’t win over people not already on board
Instead, if you focus on concrete material conditions, like affordability and healthcare, nearly everyone agrees. Or in the case of flock, you roll it in with datacenters and the AI bubble in general
Winning under a banner of socialism is impractical, but socialist policies are rapidly rising in popularity across the board. If it goes down easier calling it progressivism, who cares? I just want good things
The AI “editing” is really coming through strongly in this article.
The hero we need.
Why is a simple act of vandalism a felony?
Vandalism generally rises to a felony if the property damage exceeds a certain monetary threshold. This is similar to classes of theft.
It probably has something to do with using a gun.
The 2nd amendment only protects your right to purchase and own a gun. Not only is using a gun often illegal, it’s grounds for summery execution. You know, freedom.
Its the dollar amount the gun stuff would generally be separate charges. Sort of like theft over $500 is a a felony but not under. Of course that varies state to state.
I’m surprised they didn’t hit him with “unlawful discharge of a firearm” because that is what this is. Or “commiting a felony with a firearm” charges.
Still agree with it though!
Showing off his Tennessee cred
He’s got my vote!
Yeah, Same here honestly
